The timeless charm of the cut hydrangea
The timeless charm of the cut hydrangea
Studio Cara - Ruth De Keyser
In the June Lookbook, the cut hydrangea takes center stage. With its generous flower heads, soft colors, and versatile character, it’s a staple in the floral industry and a beloved choice for summer weddings. From dreamy shades of blue to fresh green nuances, the hydrangea brings volume, elegance, and romance together in a single flower.
For this edition, Studio Cara created a modern wedding concept in which the hydrangea plays a different role each time. From a contemporary table centerpiece to a refined bridal bouquet and a sculptural ceremony installation: three creations that show just how versatile this flower of the month really is.

The cut hydrangea stays in prime condition for a long time if the stem can absorb water as well as possible. Follow these tips for the best results: cut the stem at an angle, remove excess leaves, then scrape 5 cm from the bottom of the stem with a small knife, take a clean vase, add cut-flower food, and fill with hot water (approx. 60°C).
Even after harvesting, the cut hydrangea continues to develop. During its vase life, the flower can continue to deepen in colour, giving the shades even more depth, softness, or character.
